highway5Well, this is it…. I think I finally have something that I can work with in terms of a website.  Lets get comfortable  with this -then I will see if I can mess it up by changing “things” around!

I usually know the boundary to my ability, however, I sometimes fall for the “so simple, anyone can do this” ploy.  Well building a blog/website might be that simple – or I am not “anyone”.  Literally folks, this is NOT simple if you  are the average 57 year old female.  I have obsessed over this and made revision after revision, attempting to  understand what each “click” means or creates.  I know this- without YouTube and asking my hubby for some help, I  would still be crying over spilled milk!  To be fair,  I could have just started with a WordPress hosted blog site.. but  of course, I needed to do the whole thing and buy my domain name.  Therefore, I had a little bit of money committed to this process  – only about $100 for a year – still in my current financial state that is a consideration!

What have I learned? First of all – NEVER  be far away from a YouTube video!  This applies to so much more than web site building too…. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who make YouTube videos…. well at least those of you who “knew” what video’s I would need.  Second, as in anything, you have to ask for help. Several time, my hubby sat and slugged through (play on words there… slug line/ slugged through) my errors to correct them and make this thing work.  Third, EVERYTHING looks better in  the morning – that all by itself solved a lot of problems, and that concept is a great blog topic!  Fourth, keep clicking, reading, and trying – somehow you may end up with something that works. It may not be the best, but it is a start. Finally, learning is an on going process.  Give yourself some time and you may surprise yourself with what happens!

I am excited to see where this idea takes me -mostly I am hopeful to better connect with friends and  “meet” new people and hear their ideas and view points.  Thanks to those of you who have suggested that blog writing would be good for me. I see this as one more “green light” or “open door” in my life that God has shown me, and I am sure there is an adventure waiting on the other side. So, here we go…
