How do you measure a year?
525,600 minutes have passed since I have written a blog post. How do I measure that time? How do I evaluate all that has transpired during those 525,600 minutes?
There have been joys, struggles, death, successes, failures, pain and so much more. What things, which I learned in the preceding 525,600 minutes, did I actually retain and continue to practice? What needs to be learned in the next 525,600 minutes?
I left this platform a year ago when I reported that after 9 months of unemployment, I had started a new job. I shared on the first day of that new job, I had a close encounter with a large buck on the highway. I also said, and intended to, continue to update my blog regularly during the course of this past year.
That was obviously a pipe dream or a lack discipline …. Or both.
It isn’t that I haven’t wanted to write (and keep up on my Etsy shop and other projects), I just seemed to have lost track of time. A whole year’s worth of time – and of living. There have been many times I had thoughts to “get down in writing” but by the time I got to my computer, the urge had passed. Or I was too tired. Or I had dishes to unload from the dishwasher. You know – important interruptions.
So what has been going on….
I have learned how to listen to podcasts. I have become well acquainted with sciatica pain. I continue to have a “cellar dwellar”. I am going to be a grandma again. I have a new car. I see things from the perspective of retirement. I have a new dog.

Hello little man – we can’t wait to meet you in February
Life – life has been going on. Everyday, is the same, and everyday is different. I have met new people. I have lost touch with others. I have read books. I have facetimed our grand-daughter tons. I have spent way too much time on social media.
Life… 525,600 minutes of life I have not shared with you. 525,600 minutes of “material” to draw upon.
Let’s get back to talking about life – about those minutes – about looking at those minutes truthfully.
As always – I invite you to join me for the journey – I will attempt to stay in my lane – and you attempt to stay in yours while we discuss the minutes that make the years.
PS One thing I did want to accomplish while I was “away” was to do some updates to my webpages. I am grateful and excited to say that thanks to my friend Luke Miller in Arizona – that task has been accomplished. I love all that he did to help me move to this new theme and hope you like it too. Thanks Luke!! You are a blessing to me!
So happy to see this!! Just keep writing…just keep writing…just keep writing!!!
Thanks for reading and encouraging!!
